Harmonious Humanoids are coming!

The Strange Occurence At Chapter 51Mark your calendars for:
Saturday, May 3rd

The Strange Occurrence at Chapter 51  is the title of NGH’s 2014 Annual show. Joining the journey into the unknown depths of time, space, and harmony will be a choral ensemble from Grimsby Secondary School, and the 2013 Ontario District Collegiate Champions: Pitch, Please! In this cosmic dance of mysteries, NGH boldly asks, ‘What happens when two worlds collide — or more importantly, in space, can anyone hear you harmonize?’ Join us for an afternoon (or evening: we have two shows) of mystery, fun, and harmony presented at the Lakemount Worship Centre, 54 North Service Rd., Grimsby.

Need some details? Good news! Special NGH agent Ryan Inch managed to uncover some sketchy intelligence (our favourite kind) about our guest collegiate champions quartet:

Pitch, Please!

These four young gentlemen (tenor Caleb Bray, bass Nathan Walton, lead Sean Dennis, and baritone Silas Chinsen) began singing together in the fall of 2012. All four members, primarily instrumentalists, had been introduced to Barbershop by their high school music teacher Shawn Oakes (Brantford Collegiate Institute) who encouraged them to join O’YA — the Ontario Youth Acapella chorus. Some NGH supporters may remember the O’YA chorus from their feature guest appearance on our 2011 show.

In the spring of 2013, Pitch, Please! was honoured with the title of the 2013 Ontario Collegiate Quartet Champions, and continued to compete at the 75th International Barbershop Competition held last summer in Toronto.

With most members currently pursuing a post secondary education in different parts of Ontario, distance has caused the quartet to take a break from competing. However, they still perform regularly throughout the summer, as well as running high school work shops in the hopes of inspiring more young men to sing in the Barbershop style.

Special Agent Inch’s final message? Warning! If seen on the street be extremely cautious, and do not approach. Suspects are considered very harmonious.” (Thanks SA Inch!)

Show times are 1 pm for the matinee and 7 pm for the evening show.

Reserved seats are $20 for adults and $10 for anyone 18 or younger.
